This policy explains what the Boring Ringtone mobile application ("the app") does and does not do with your information.
None. We operate no servers and have no account system. We cannot see your files, your ringtones, your library, or how you use the app. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
The app writes the following to your device's own storage. It is never transmitted, and it is removed when you uninstall the app:
The "text to tone" feature uses the speech engine built into your operating system (Android's text-to-speech service, or Apple's AVSpeechSynthesizer). Your text is handed to that system component on your device. We do not send it to any third-party speech API. Depending on your device settings, your operating system's own speech engine may itself use network services; that behaviour is governed by Google's or Apple's privacy policy, not ours.
Payment itself is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your payment details — no card number, no billing address, no name.
To keep track of whether your Pro purchase is still valid (including after you reinstall the app or move to a new phone), the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. When you open the paywall or complete a purchase, the following is sent to RevenueCat's servers:
RevenueCat returns a yes/no answer about your Pro access, which the app keeps locally. This check runs when the app starts, so that Pro stays unlocked and prices are ready before you open the paywall. Your files, ringtones, recordings, contacts and typed text are never sent to RevenueCat or anywhere else — the request carries nothing but the items listed above.
Everything the app creates — your ringtones, your library and your settings — lives only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. There is no account to close and no copy on our side to erase.
The one exception is the purchase record described above, which is held by RevenueCat against a random identifier. To have that record deleted, email ongorunet@gmail.com with the subject "data deletion request". The identifier is shown at the very bottom of the app's Settings tab as "Purchase ID" — tap it to copy it, and include it so we can find the record. Requests are handled within 30 days.
Deleting the purchase record also removes the proof of your subscription or lifetime purchase, so Pro will no longer be restored on a new device. Cancelling a subscription is separate and is done in Google Play → Subscriptions.
The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date.
